ABOUT THE PROGRAMME FOR SEASONAL WORKERS IN POLAND
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES
Fruit/vegetable picking and general farm work can be done by both men and women who are in good health (physical and mental).
Polish farmers are looking for capable and motivated people who are flexible in their approach to various tasks on the farm (mainly harvesting, but also weeding, planting, cleaning, etc.).
You can apply if:
- You are physically fit to pick fruit/vegetables – the work requires using your hands/fingers, bending, walking, lifting, and moving, etc.
- You are goal-oriented and motivated (most of the work involves task quotas calculated individually or in groups).
- You are flexible and adapt easily – everyone must be prepared to pick fruit/vegetables and work shifts, you CANNOT choose your work upon arrival;
- You are able to listen and follow instructions;
- You show respect for your colleagues, superiors, and people of other cultures, religions, and nationalities;
- Previous experience in agriculture will be an additional advantage.
Please note that due to weather conditions or other reasons beyond the control of the Ośrodek HR,, your place of work/employer may change shortly before departure or during your stay.
Please note that the number of hours per week is not fixed and depends on weather conditions and crop conditions (farmers in Poland offer between 40 and 60 hours of work per week). Please note that the visa does not guarantee permanent employment for the entire duration of the visa – this means that, depending on the season/employer, the actual period of employment may last, for example, 3-5 months.

Expectations regarding remuneration and work
The salary rate includes a task-based and quality-based quota to be met (individually or as part of a team).
Many employers offer a bonus for achieving higher performance results above the set quota.
Please note that you should be flexible about your weekly salary, as the final amount will depend on the actual number of hours worked, your productivity, and the type of work. You should also expect differences in earnings depending on your work experience, commitment, and suitability for the job – candidates with little or no experience should be aware that it may take them up to several weeks to reach the required level of productivity.
Social security, tax, and accommodation costs are deducted from the gross salary, resulting in an average monthly net/take-home salary of PLN 3,600-6,600 (approximately USD 1,000-1,800).
Accommodation
Workers are mainly accommodated on farms in mobile homes consisting of one living room and two or three bedrooms, which can sleep two people. Some employers provide accommodation in houses or buildings with rooms, in some cases equipped with bunk beds. Kitchens and bathrooms/toilets may be located in the mobile homes or in separate buildings. Remember that this is camping standard and you are coming to a farm, not a hotel.
The rent for accommodation varies depending on the farm, but the average monthly cost is PLN 300 per month.
This cost is deducted from your monthly salary.
Travel insurance details
Every employee must have comprehensive emergency travel insurance that covers the costs of hospital treatment and repatriation to their country of origin. Before departure, all employees are required to familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions of the insurance policy and the general terms and conditions of insurance, including what constitutes an insured event, main exclusions, etc.
Income tax and social security
In Poland, seasonal workers are employed and insured, and pay taxes in accordance with the applicable rules.
Visa and travel costs
To work in Poland, each employee covers the costs of insurance, visa, and transportation.
- Each employee may ask the Osrodek HR to submit a visa application on their behalf.
If you do this through Osrodek HR, the payment will be 180 euros,
which includes the visa fee (135 euros) + administrative fee + currency conversion and VAT, bank commission for card payment.
- In addition, depending on your job assignment, you may be required to undergo mandatory one-time medical examinations that allow you to work with food in Poland, for which your employer may charge you an additional fee of PLN 200-300.
- All employees are required to follow the travel instructions received from the Osrodek HR and their employer. Everyone must purchase a ticket with an arrival date confirmed in advance by the Osrodek HR.
We would like to remind you not to use the services of or pay any fees to individuals or agencies promising visas to Poland!
